Three Women Made Snapchat Video With Dying Patient
JEFFERSON, GA - July 12, 2018
Three women have been arrested and charged after they recorded a video with a dying patient at a senior's home in Jefferson, Georgia and then uploaded the video to Snapchat.
The three women are Jorden Lanah Bruce, 21, of Jefferson; Mya Janai Moss, 21, of Colbert; and Lizeth Jocelyn Cervantes Ramirez, 19. According to the police report, all three women worked at the Bentley Senior Living Facility in Jefferson.
“One of them was smoking a vape pen in the video. They were using profanities and (making obscene hand gestures) at the camera,” a Jefferson Police Department detective said.
They snuck into one of the rooms where a 76-year-old woman was lying after a stroke. It happened at night. During the time that the three women were waiting for a hospice nurse to arrive they filmed the Snap story. Another staff member later saw the video, which they had titled "The End," and called 911.
The women were arrested on June 22nd.
“It was going to be an extensive time before the hospice nurse could be there, so these three employees were supposed to closely monitor the patient,” the police spokesperson said.
Police said the women were ignoring the patient when she needed help.
