Montezuma police arrested a man after an active shooter situation.
Authorities say they responded to a 911 call in Macon County EMS and arrived at the home located 612 N. Dooly St. for a medical call on May 22 and were met with fire.
Jimmy Stradley Jr., who has a history of mental illness, was arrested without incident in the back of the home. He was taken to the Medical Center in Macon for the treatment.
"I am glad that none of our first responders were injured in this incident. It goes to show how dangerous this job is," said Chief Eric Finch.
Officers were also able to get a search warrant collect evidence from the home. Charges against Stradley are currently pending.
The Macon County Sheriff's Office, Oglethorpe Police Department, and Ideal Police Department also responded to this incident.
