LOUISVILLE – July 12, 2018

Officials have deceived Kentuckian mine workers and forced them to work in bad conditions, cheating tests with false dust samples, reports Richmond Register.

It happened at least twice at Armstrong’s Parkway and Kronos mines about five years ago. In order avoid halting operations, mine owners fabricated the samples to look clean, knowing that the real samples would never have met safety standards.

Breathing air which is below health and safety standards can cause serious health problems, including the potentially fatal black lung disease.
