A Homeless Man Without Arms Stabs a Man With a Pair of Scissors
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA — July 12, 2018
The incident was reported by witnesses on Tuesday in the 1600 block of Collins Avenue.
According to police, Jonathan Crenshaw, 45, pulled out a sharp object when another young man asked him for directions. Instead of answering the question, Crenshaw started to stab the victim with a pair of scissors.
What was truly remarkable was that Crenshaw used his legs in that attack, as 22-years-old Cesar Coronado tried to defend himself. Crenshaw first kicked the victim in the head, and then pulled out a pair of scissors with his feet and stabbed the victim. After the stabbing, he attempted to flee the scene.
Coronado, who had just arrived from Chicago, said that due to the incident, his vacation began with a trip to the hospital.
"I'm not from here and this is not what I came for. I came for a vacation," Coronado said. "I just said 'do you know where this is?' but as soon as I talked, the only thing he reacted was he just cut me."
Crenshaw was found later in the day in the 200 block of Lincoln Road, authorities said.
According to the arrest report, an officer showed up at the scene with the witness, who identified Crenshaw as the man who attacked her friend.
"Why would I go and attack someone else? No, no, I wouldn't do that," Coronado said. "It’s like how the hell did I get stabbed? Like, is it the right guy at that point? Because I can't believe with his legs someone could do that."
Crenshaw was arrested on an aggravated battery charge. He had been working as a street artist in the area.
