Trump was inspired by a cowboy who said that “good Democrat is a dead Democrat”

US President Donald Trump has chosen an extremely bad time to encourage violent speech. On Thursday, Trump retweeted a video appeal from one of his supporters in which the “Cowboys for Trump” group’s leader Couy Griffin wishes Death to the Democrats.

“I’ve come to a place where I’ve come to a conclusion where the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat,” Griffin said

Later, Griffin clarified his words. A supporter of the president said his words should not be interpreted as a call to violence but should take into account the political context.

“And I can already see the videos getting edited where says I want to go murder Democrats,” he said. “I say that in the political sense because the Democrat policy and agenda is anti-American right now.”

The day before the president posted the video on his Twitter, Trump told the Daily Beast,  that he “could’ve chosen different verbiage.”

“I guess I need to be more careful when I choose the words that I speak,” he said. “But you know, it’s just so hypocritical of the left how they’re blowing this up, like I’m some hate-speech murderer.”

Continuing the interview, Couy Griffin reiterated that Democrats with an anti-American agenda should be punished for treason.

“You get to pick your poison: you either go before a firing squad, or you get the end of the rope,” Griffin said about governors Ralph Northam (D-VA) and Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI).
