One of three suspects involved in the investigation of the fatal threats  Black Lives Matter activists accidentally shot himself at a gas station in Long Beach.

According to Long Beach police reports, the shooter was identified as Jeffrey Garcia. Later it turned out that the only victim in this incident was also involved in the investigation of the “planning assassination” of one of the Black Lives Matter activists Shaun King.

Garcia was taken to the nearest hospital with a bullet wound without a life threat. As it turned out later, Garcia, along with other members of the Facebook page, wrote inappropriate messages, which was later published on the Medium article.

"Toss this guy from a helicopter," "Need a sniper," "Shaun King needs to be put down," "I recommend retro active birth control, or post birth abortion, whatever you wanna call it," says some of the messages of a different members of the private Facebook group for California law enforcement officers.

According to LBPD, this incident with random shooting is not related to the investigation that began on Saturday.

“The subject involved in the incident was identified as a retired LBPD Sergeant, Jeffrey Garcia, a 54-year-old resident of Long Beach. Garcia was recently named in an earlier story regarding a separate investigation into threats made against a known journalist. At this time, it is not believed that this incident is related to that investigation,” said the official statement.
