The dismembered body was found inside Manhattan apartment
Lower East Side police discovered the body of a 33-year-old Fahim Saleh. According to sources, the arms, legs and head were separated from the body by an electric saw and packed in plastic bags.
“We have a torso, a head that’s been removed, arms, and legs. Everything is still on the scene. We don’t have a motive,” NYPD spokesman Sgt. Carlos Nieves said.
The alarm was struck by the sister of the deceased. Around 3 pm, she called 911 because she discovered the body, reports the Daily News.
“This is ugly,” one cop at the scene said, according to Fox News.
According to official information, the detectives managed to get a recording from the surveillance camera, which captured the last minutes of Saleh's life. Detectives saw how the victim entered the elevator about 1 pm, and an unidentified man with a mask on his face and hat followed him.
According to the investigation, this was a well-planned murder, since the suspect carried a set of tools for cutting the body.
All collected evidence from the scene was delivered to the laboratory for analysis. Investigators believe that the criminal was in a hurry because part of his belongings remained at the scene of the murder.
