Oklahoma police broke a 74-year-old woman's arm during the arrest of her son who suffers bipolar disorder
A detachment of Oklahoma City police broke into the home of a woman whose son was suspected of planning an explosion in a psychiatric facility where he was previously receiving treatment. During his arrest, 74-year-old Ruby Jones was handcuffed for allegedly preventing officers from making an arrest.
“Took my arm, mashed it all up, praise God and put it up there, and I had both the handcuffs on then,” Jones said according to KOCO 5.
Also, according to the victim, the police did not show an arrest warrant for her son.
"He's bipolar," Jones said. When asked about the warrant, the officers "said no and pushed me out the way."
During the arrest, the officers pointed their guns at her son. According to his mother, he was unarmed and posed no threat.
The police officers who participated in the arrest declined to comment on the incident.
