Kamala Harris said she is proud of Jacob Blake during meeting with his family
Democratic Senator, Kamila Harris said that she was proud of Jacob Blake, the victim of police shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
She expressed how proud she is of the man when she was visiting his family. Blake himself, who is now paralyzed from the waist down, joined the meeting by phone from the hospital.
And this could have been a nice move if there weren’t some circumstances. For example, Blake was charged with sexual assault and violated the restriction when refused to leave the property of his accuser. When the cops arrived at the scene he resisted the arrest and allegedly reaching out for a knife in his car. Blake was shot seven times in the back by a Kenosha police officer.
Blake’s family representative, attorney Benjamin Crump released a statement with the details about the meeting.
"Sen. Harris had an inspirational and uplifting one-hour visit with Jacob Blake, Jr. and his family today," the statement read. "She spoke individually with each family member about how they were handling the trauma and urged them to take care of their physical and mental health. In a moving moment, Jacob Jr. told Sen. Harris that he was proud of her, and the senator told Jacob that she was also proud of him and how he is working through his pain. Jacob Jr. assured her that he was not going to give up on life for the sake of his children."
