Seattle cop is under investigation after biking on protester's head: VIDEO
During violent protests in King County, one of the dozens of officers ran over an activist lying on the ground as the crowd was pushed back. The video shows another protester immediately attempted to attack a cyclist in police uniform but backed off when a line of police officers used bicycles as shields.
The Office of Police Accountability (OPA) accuses the officer of “potential violations of SPD policy, as well as potential criminal conduct,” and demands criminal charges.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Ryan Abbott said that the investigation has begun, but the timing of its completion has not been announced. The officer's name was not disclosed. It is known that the suspect was placed on administrative leave with pay.
The incident took place on Wednesday night. Mobile police units reportedly began suppressing riots immediately after fireworks fired at police stations.
