VIDEO: 5-year-old boy defended his family from four armed home intruders in South Bend and police seek for suspects
A little boy protected his family during a home invasion in South Bend, Indiana, and police search for four suspects.
The boy’s actions following the invasion was caught on camera. The four unidentified men broke into the house when someone of the family answered the door. At least three of them were armed.
The men stormed into the kitchen while the boy’s mother focused on protecting her four kids in the living room. But suddenly, one of her kids showed the example of bravery.
The video shows 5-year-old David Johnson fights back the criminals and begins to throw toys at them before rushing himself onto the armed intruders forcing them to leave.
David’s mother, Tamika Reid called her son “my hero.”
The crooks, apparently didn’t expect such rebuff and retreated. Luckily nobody was hurt and nothing was taken.
The incident happened on September 30. The police responded to the 911 call reporting of gunshot and arrived at the home in the 500-block of South Grant Street.
The police released a video and hope to find the suspects before other families suffer. The department spokesman said that the boy deserves “a gold star for bravery” but no child should ever experience the situations like this.
The boy is a real man in the house, he protected his family and police said now "it is our job to defend him."
