A brutal attack against a 73-year-old man inside a Miami Metromover was caught on surveillance camera and recently released by the police.

The assault took place in September. 73-year-old Eduardo Fernandez was on his way to work heading Government Center station when he was attacked on the Metromover ride at about 6 a.m.

Suspect, 62-year-old homeless Robert Lee Ribbs came down hard on Fernandez after a security gueard exited the train. He punched and kick the elderly man before reaching to his pocket and stealing $30 in cash, according to the arrest report.

Fernandez suffered several broken bones, and internal bleeding, his face was all bruised. The 73-year-old had to undergo surgery.

Ribbs was arrested the day after the attack and was charged with strong-arm robbery, aggravated battery and battery.
