Video shows woman wearing mask incorrectly punch flight attendant in the face

A new video shows a black woman punching a flight attendant in the face while wearing her mask incorrectly before being kicked off the plane from Miami to Atlanta on Monday.

The video was posted by BBC journalist Suzanne Kianpour. The footage shows a raged African American traveler accompanied by her male co-traveler getting closer to the Delta Airlines flight attendant before lunging forward. It’s unclear what brought to the confrontation as it is not heard on the video.

A woman off-camera can be only heard saying, “She’s in her face. Oh lord, oh lord,” shortly before the passenger strikes the flight attendant.

“You can’t be hitting a flight attendant!” the woman then adds.

Another video, shot from another angle by passenger Lauryn England, shows the attacker wearing the mask incorrectly, she had it around her neck.

“You shouldn’t have touched me. You pushed me,” the woman could be heard saying.

Her male travel companion then stuck his finger in the flight attendant’s face.

Eventually, police boarded the plane to kick them both off the plane but no arrests were reportedly made. Delta then reported that the passengers were removed from the plane for not complying with safety instructions.

“There is nothing more important than the safety of our people and customers,” the company said. “That’s why two customers who did not comply with crew safety instructions were asked to deplane Flight 1997 this evening [sic].”

“We do not tolerate violence of any kind and this situation is currently under investigation. We apologize to customers for the flight delay this caused.”
