Arizona Ballot Checks Fail Donald Trump's Fraud Allegations
A recent tweet by Donald Trump contained allegations of vote fraud in Arizona, but audits in the four largest counties found no deviations, CNN reported.
From 200,000 votes to less than 10,000 votes. If we can audit the total votes cast, we will easily win Arizona also! https://t.co/3eZHjdZL98— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 12, 2020
Joe Biden is currently in the lead with a margin of 0.34% of the vote.
According to the election commission, the voter turnout was 79%. The checks were conducted in Maricopa, Pima, Pinal and Yavapai Counties, which together account for more than 84% of the vote.
The audits, which counties begin within 24 hours of the polls closing, must include five races, including the presidential race. By regulation, they have to count regular Election-Day ballots from at least two precincts or 2% of precincts, whichever is greater. The precincts are selected at random, by drawing.
