Trump and Biden Spent Over 14 Billion Dollars On The Most Embarrassing Elections in US History

According to the latest analysis conducted by the nonpartisan, independent and nonprofit organization, the Center for Responsive Politics, two competing parties in the United States spent $ 14 billion in the 2020 elections.

Half of this money will be considered wasted because one of the candidates will lose.

“Donors poured record amounts of money into the 2018 midterms, and 2020 appears to be a continuation of that trend — but magnified,” said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics. “Ten years ago, a billion-dollar presidential candidate would have been difficult to imagine. This cycle, we’re likely to see two.”

Considering what colossal money was spent on the purchase of new Dominion voting machines, and the identification of their unreliability, it shows that most of the funds went to stickers, flyers, flags in support of candidates and many other attributes of the presidential campaign that did not bring any benefit to the Americans.

On the other hand, the remaining small donation can still help the United States. Refinery29 answered the question “Is your donation wasted if the campaign doesn’t win?”

"Unused funds from a campaign may be donated to charity, go toward future runs for that candidate or other candidates, or pay off outstanding campaign debts,” says Sarah Bryner, director of research and strategy at the Center for Responsive Politics.

According to the study, this election has cost the United States even more than the two previous races combined.

Most of the money went to the IT giant from Silicon Valley, which completely controls social media and the Internet in general. Since the pandemic has made adjustments and various bans, to the point of being completely imprisoned in homes, ads on social media websites have nearly doubled the fortunes of billionaires.

Political groups have spent over $1 billion this year to advertise on these platforms, according to OpenSecrets’ online ads database.
