Montana About to Face Shortage of Nurses
HELENA, MT – July 25, 2018
The state of Montana might soon encounter a shortage of nurses, local media reports.
This mostly due to the fact those currently working in the profession are aging and close to retirement and not enough new nurses are being trained to replace them: about one third of the nurses in Montana are in their 60’s.
However, this is not just a problem in Montana. The U.S. Registered Nurse Workforce Report Card and Shortage Forecast, published in the January 2012 issue of the American Journal of Medical Quality, stated that a shortage of registered nurses has been projected to spread across the country between 2009 and 2030.
