On The Day Of The Start Of The Total Vaccination De Blasio Announces A New Total Lockdown
Shortly before the New Year, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio recommended that residents prepare for a new wave of closures due to the pandemic.
"What is increasingly clear is that all forms of restrictions have to be on the table at this point," de Blasio said. "At the current rate we are going you have to be ready now for a full shutdown, a pause like we had back at the end of the spring."
When nearly 61 percent of New Yorkers voted for Democrat, no one suspected that all the Christmas holidays would have to be spent in four walls, until the eventual inauguration of Joe Biden.
De Blasio says the combination of vaccinations and other ways to lock society will help lower mortality.
"That is increasingly necessary just to break the back of this second wave, to stop this second wave from growing, to stop it from taking lives," the mayor said.
Over the past two weeks, the death rate in New York has increased by 88 percent, and the total number of victims of Covid-19 has exceeded 35 thousand people. To date, the number of cases is 823,599 people.
Law enforcement officers and officials in other states have also begun to join the number of those dissatisfied with the upcoming shutdowns. The Pennsylvania sheriff compared Democratic politics to a socialist agenda and went over to the Republican camp.
