Federal authorities arrested man who descriped himself as Proud Boy and made online threats
The feds have arrested a Queens man who posed as a member of Proud Boys after he made online threats about going to Washington D.C. following the storming of the Capitol.
40-year-old Eduard Florea was busted at his home on 76th St. at Eliot Ave. in Middle Village. The authorities said the man was charged with weapon-possession.
Florea reportedly threatened to kill people in the past and also made several online threats. The FBI said he was allegedly going to kill liberal politicians and government agencies.
The man has a criminal record, he was arrested back in 2014 when during the search at his house the authorities discovered a cache of weapons, according to the source close to the case.
However, the feds doubt that Florea indeed participated in January 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol, though some of his online remarks discussed taking an armed caravan to D.C., law enforcement sources told NBC New York.
Florea is expected to face more federal charges.
