Two Men Injured in Nebraska Explosion


MALCOLM, NE – July 31, 2018

A fireball badly burned two workers as a result of a gas vapor explosion near a school in the town of Malcolm, Nebraska, local media reports.

The two were working on a generator in a semitrailer Monday morning outside Westfall Elementary School in Malcolm when the explosion occurred. Malcolm Fire Chief Jim Densberger said that both men were taken to a hospital in Lincoln their names haven't been released.

Authorities say the two are subcontractors working on a school expansion project. The school was not damaged.

No other injuries were reported. The school is closed for the summer.
