2 USAF pilots killed in jet crash in Alabama

Two pilots were killed during a training flight near the Montgomery Regional Airport Friday, according to the US Air Force. The names of the victims were not disclosed.

It is known that a T-38 trainer aircraft crash landed around 5:30 pm. The jet was assigned to the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Miss, reports WSFA.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two pilots involved in this incident,” said Col. Seth Graham, 14th Flying Training Wing commander. “There are no words that can describe the sadness that accompanies the loss of our teammates.”

According to official information, the civilian population was not affected. The crash area is cordoned off and is being investigated by various departments.

No structures were damaged, officials said.
