Harvey Weinstein Surrendered to Police
NEW YORK – May 25, 2018
Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has turned himself into the police in New York, where he has confessed to sexual misconduct charges.
The police's charges are related to a statement by actress Lucia Evans, which states that Weinstein sexually abused, harassed and verbally abused her over a five-year period.
Previously Mr. Weinstein has always denied charges that he engaged in non-consensual sex and this would be the first time he has been charged with a crime.
Mr. Weinstein is expected to have his mugshot and fingerprints taken at the police station. The indictment depends on district attorney Cyrus Vance; as it would seem to the charges stem from his investigation. The charge will be arraigned at Manhattan Criminal Court.
Who else has accused Weinstein?
Harvey Weinstein has faced numerous accusations of sexual harassment and assault from other women in the past. Some of whom have alleged rape. Actresses, Kate Beckinsale, Lysette Anthony, and Gwyneth Paltrow are among the high-profile figures who have accused him of sexual misconduct and harassment.
In all of these previous instances, investigators decided not to charge him even though there existed damning audio of Mr. Weinstein confessing to touching Ms. Battilana's breasts and pledging not to do so again.
