Biden will spend $ 86 million to avoid being reproached for keeping migrant children in cages
The administration of US President Joe Biden has contracted with border hotels to provide rooms for 1,200 migrant families. The deal was worth $ 86 million.
“The contract through Endeavors, a Texas-based nonprofit, is for six months but could be extended and expanded. The hotels will be near border areas, including in Arizona and Texas,” an Axios report reveals. “ICE oversees the custody of migrant adults and families who cross the border illegally after they are apprehended by border patrol agents. The agency is already transforming its family detention facilities into rapid-processing centers with the goal of releasing families within 72 hours.”
Society agrees that this is an extremely unprofitable and very expensive PR campaign to restore Biden's reputation. Such a conclusion is made by people based on the statistics of the influx of illegal immigrants in the United States.
500 people cross the US-Mexican border every day. At the moment, the number of refugees already totals 15,500 migrants.
For Biden, it is extremely important now to rehabilitate himself for the border crisis, which he himself created by promising citizenship to 11 million migrants, and then saying that he did not invite them.
The media has also criticized the US Presidential Administration for DHS keeping the conditions of detention of migrants in the strictest confidence.
“President Biden maintains that federal agencies are acting as quickly as possible to transfer detained children out of the custody of the US Border Patrol into “safe facilities.” Meanwhile, Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-California) defended the lack of transparency, claiming it’s “not necessarily appropriate” for the media to see the conditions because they aren’t “permanent,” and insisted that “safety and privacy” are more important at the moment,” reports RT.
