WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 2, 2018

Utah-based conservative artist Jon McNaughton unveiled a new painting showing President Trump navigating a flooded Washington DC swamp in George Washington-style as members of his administration brandish rifles.

He calls the painting 'Crossing the Swamp' and posted it on Twitter on Tuesday. He signed the picture with the words 'Never give up. Never lower your light. Never stop till the swamp is dry.' He also wrote that Trump 'carries the light of truth, hope, and prosperity'. Mcnaughton is a known Trump supporter.

"The murky water of the deep state is laced with dangerous vermin, perfectly willing to destroy American prosperity for their personal ideologies and financial gain," he also wrote. "The establishment Democrats, Never-Trumper-Republicans, Deep State, and Fake News Media will do all they can to stop the majority of the American people from succeeding."

As McNaughton explained, it is a replica of the historic 'Washington Crossing Delaware' painting but it pictures a number of high profile members of Trump's administration, among them are John Bolton, Kellyanne Conway, Mike Pompeo,  Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, James Mattis, Ben Carson, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and John Kelly. All of them wielding rifles.

First lady Melania Trump is holding Trump's hand, with Mike Pence, and Ivanka Trump standing behind them.

Social network users were quick to laugh at the painting, not that Trump didn't make the crew and that Carson appeared to be rowing backward.

Billy Kapcoe, Twitter user made few different versions of the picture.

McNaughton said in his artist biography that his paintings are often centered around religious or political figures.

"As an artist, I paint what I feel needs to be said about the current state of our country. My hope is that Trump will be remembered as the President that restored America’s greatness. I want to be on that boat for freedom!" he answered to most of the social network users.

McNaughton has several other paintings on his website about the Trump administration. One, titled “Make America Safe,” depicts Trump standing in front of a white picket fence with an open lock, holding a key, and the American flag waving in the background.

Another, titled “Respect the Flag,” shows Trump on a football field, hugging a ripped flag, seemingly referencing the president’s battle with the National Football League over players kneeling during the National Anthem.
