Illinois teacher suspended for allegedly posting her sex video on SnapChat and sharing it with students

An Illinois teacher was suspended for allegedly sharing video of herself having sex on SnapChat with some of her students in November, according to the reports.

The name of the teacher of the Moline High School was not released.

The school board president Sangeetha Rayapati that the teacher was placed on leave in coordination with administrative policies of the district.

The incident came out to the light after school principle, Trista Sanders received several tips about the teacher posting the explicit materials on SnapChat. Concerning that some of the students and co-workers who had friended her on the app could see the sex videos, Sanders contacted the police. It happened on November 7, 2020.

But it was too late. The students were already widely discussing the videos in a group chat. The student also debated on whether to tell the teacher the video was there.

The teacher herself told the investigators that her friend had urged her to take down the sex videos. She also said that she had not watched the videos before deleting her “story” from the app.

Regardless of everything, the teacher has not been charged because the prosecutors “could not meet the burden of proof that the teacher had knowingly or intentionally distributed the sexually explicit images,” according to the reports.

Assistant Illinois Attorney Heidi Weller wrote, “there does not appear to be any intent to groom individual students.”
