2 Yemeni terrorists detained while trying to cross the US border
Two men on the FBI's list of potential terrorists were arrested in Southern California after illegally crossing the border.
The men – arrested in January and March near a port of entry in California – were on a U.S. government watchlist for terrorism suspects and a “no-fly” list, CBP said in a press release.
The names of those arrested were not disclosed, CBP reported that one of the illegal immigrants is 33 years old, the second is 26. Officials arrested the man around two miles from the Calexico Port of Entry and he was taken to the El Centro Processing Center for immigration and criminal history screening.
During the search of the suspect, a mobile phone SIM card was found in the sole of his shoes.
It is reported that both detainees will be in custody pending deportation.
