3 police officers were shot with a rifle in Georgia


Three police officers were shot with a rifle by two men. The chase reportedly began when a police patrol spotted a car breaking the speed limit.

During the chase, the shooter was killed, his accomplice was taken into custody.

“Aaron Jajuan Shelton, age 22, of Birmingham, AL has been charged with 5 counts of aggravated assault and 3 counts of aggravated battery.  He is being held at the Carroll County Jail, GBI reported in a press release. “The deceased has been identified as Pier Alexander Shelton, age 28, of Birmingham, AL.”

The pursuit ended with the suspects crashing into an obstacle near Ithica Elementary School in Villa Rica. 

Both men ran from the vehicle, resulting in a search for them.  At approximately 5:00 A.M. and 5:30 A.M., the men shot towards officers and Villa Rica Police Officer Chase Gordy returned shots and was shot twice.

It is reported that all three officers were not fatally wounded and have already been discharged from the hospital.
