Montana Wildfire Has Doubled in Size
HELENA, MT – August 7, 2018
The Virginia Creek Fire in Montana has almost doubled in size, local media reports, despite all the effort being made to stop it.
It now stretches across 67 acres and is 15 percent contained. The personnel working on the fire is the same, about 47 firefighters, a helicopter and four engines, and there are now two water tenders.
Crews are continuing to strengthen and improve their fire lines to keep the flames from spreading. Firefighters said the weather conditions over the weekend were favorable, and they'll do the best they can with the high temperatures and low humidity in the forecast this week.
