Eight People Injured in Serious Car Crash in Tennessee
NASHVILLE, TN – August 7, 2018
Eight people were injured during a violent collision between a van and a tractor-trailer in Green County, Tennessee, local media reports.
The crash happened at mile marker 41 and blocked off the busy interstate for several hours. It resulted in suspected serious injuries among seven van occupants and drew the response of numerous first responders.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol crash report said that a Honda Odyssey van driven by 31-year-old Darwin Murillo of Philadelphia blew a tire and Murillo lost control of the van, which veered left into a guard rail.
A passenger in the tractor-trailer, 22-year-old Darryl A. Diggs, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was not injured.
Murillo suffered a suspected serious injury and was taken by Greene County-Greeneville EMS to Holston Valley Medical Center.
Others in the van suffering suspected serious injuries include 36-year-old Dora Murillo, 13-year-old Ziany Zuniga, 11-year-old John Zuniga, 13-year-old Christian Zuniga, 18-year-old Kelin Pabon and 16-year-old Andrea Pabon.
