One person killed and several injured in two overnight shootings in new Orleans
At least one person killed and other injured in two separate shootings overnight in New Orleans, police said.
One of the shootings took place near the French Quarter of the Louisiana city at about 11:42 p.m. local time. According to police, five people were hospitalized. One of them died at the hospital.
“Later, officers learned that two other gunshot victims from this incident arrived at the hospital by private conveyance,” the New Orleans Police Department said in a statement.
“There is a total of seven victims in this incident.”
The suspect wasn’t identified, no arrests have been made. The names of the victims weren’t immediately released.
The second shooting happened “700 block of Tchoupitoulas Street near Gravier Street.” Police said, two people suffered gunshot wounds. No one of them was identified, according to the reports.
The police are investigating the shootings. The motives for the both gunfire are not known.
