All prom-related activities are cancelled at an Indiana high schools following the death of two students in a car crash that happened when the two were driving to prom on Saturday night, according to the reports.

The accident happened when Lendon Byram, a senior at Hamilton heights, and his girlfriend, Kalen Hart, a junior at Cathedral High School, were on their way to the Hamilton Heights High School senior prom night together with other students in Hamilton County.

The vehicle with the students collided with an SUV near 281st Street and Lacy Road. The other students were hospitalized with no life-threatening injuries, reports said.

Police don’t suspect any alcohol or drugs as a factor led to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.

“Our hearts just break with the families, and we want to support,” Derek Arrowood, High School superintendent, told WGN9. “We want to love and care for the kids that are here but also for those families that were impacted.

The driver of the SUV refused the medical assistance at the scene.
