Gunman at large after opening fire and injuring at least three people at Ohio restaurant in broad daylight police report
At least three people injured after a gunman opened fire in an Ohio restaurant in broad daylight. The gunman remains at large, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
At about 6:45 p.m. an unidentified man entered Park Street Cantina in Columbus, Ohio and started shooting. At that time, the restaurant had several patrons inside, according to Ohio Police Lt. Larry Yates.
When the police arrived at the scene, the gunman had fled the scene.
Two men and one women were wounded, their injuries are not life-threatening, police said. One of the restaurant’s employees reportedly rushed to help the struck victims shortly after the shooting was over. One of the male victims was shot in the face but survived.
"It appears that maybe the shooter came from outside to inside the (restaurant). We’re not 100% sure on that," Yates told Fox News.
The surveillance cameras at the area are being reviewed amid the investigation, Yates said.
"Unfortunately, we are not getting a lot of cooperation from witnesses. Right now, we just have one or two witnesses that are saying they saw something," Yates said. "Nobody else is saying they saw anything. So, we are having a little bit of difficulty determining exactly what happened until we see the video."
