George H. W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States (1989-1993), whose presidency soared with the coalition victory over Iraq in Kuwait, but then plummeted in the throes of a weak economy that led voters to turn him out of office after a single term, has died at 94.
The former president died Friday at age 94, his son and former president, George W. Bush (2001-2009), said in a statement.
"Jeb, Neil, Marvin, Doro and I sadly announce that after 94 extraordinary years, our dear father has died," he said in the statement.
